My Vision

Life is not just all about money. They say that money makes the world go round and it’s simply not true. God makes the world go round, money just makes it easier for us to live in a fallen world.

The world’s view of business, particularly in the west, is that business is there to make money for people so that they can improve their own quality of life. Most businesses are run with the idea of doing whatever it takes to make the owners of the business ‘rich’

I want to challenge that view. I totally understand and agree that, in this world, we need money to live, money to buy food, money to clothe ourselves. However, what we don’t do very well is to rely on God. We think that mundane matters like how we feed ourselves and how we keep a roof over our head would not interest God. Why we would think that, I don’t know. We are told in the bible that we are special to God and that even the hairs on our heads are numbered. A God who cares that much about us is not going to ignore our physical needs. The two ideas are totally conflicting.

So how then, if God says He will supply all our needs, does business fit in?

I have always believed that businesses can be run in a Godly manner and still make a profit. American companies such as Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out are a testament to this. Probably the most well know company in the UK which was founded and run on Christian principles is Eddie Stobart. If you haven’t read the Eddie Stobart story, click here to buy a copy, it’s well worth it.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t in business to earn money but more important than earning money for myself is to have the money to help others. I believe that Christian businesses should be supporting Christian ministries financially.

In James Chapter 4 it talks about us not receiving from God because we ask with the wrong motives. I truly believe that many Christian businesses do not succeed because the motive of their directors is to line their own pockets.

Some time ago, in Northampton, prayer a meeting was held by the directors  or a Christian charity. In that meeting various different schemes and ideas were discussed most of which required money which this charity did not have large amounts of. The question was asked ‘Where are all the rich Christian businessmen in Northampton that we can call on to help us?’. From this, and the prayers which followed, God gave one man a vision of a company which would be run to benefit Christian ministry and would have its ethos based on Numbers 15:37-41.

This vision was shared with me and I was asked if our company would like to become a part of it. After prayer and careful consideration, I agreed and we renamed the company Day3 and designed the logo to have a blue cord in it to remind us to always remember all the commands of the lord in everything we do.

From that, this website was born. We have 3 main aims:

  1. To help Christian Businesses and ministries extend their reach and renown
  2. To support Christian ministries in Northampton and the UK
  3. To pay fair and  decent wages to our employees

We are here to be successful but we are here to do things right, we want to be a rock that our customers can rely on in this cut and thrust world.

Most of all though, we want to serve and glorify God in all that we do.
